Handmade Porcelain Salt Shaker Domes
Crafted by hand on the potter’s wheel, these porcelain saltshakers feature detailed inlaid designs inspired by Australian plants including Wattle, Eucalyptus and Banksia. Each piece is double walled with a small internal funnel and a precisely sized opening at the base so you can dispense just the right amount of salt or spice. A gentle shake up and down, or a tip upside down and back upright, will release the contents. Side-to-side movement keeps the spice in place.
The size of the opening and the fineness of your chosen salt or spice determine how much flows through. Finer salt or pepper will create a larger pinch, while coarser blends release less at a time. These shakers can also be used for dried herbs or dukka, making them a versatile piece for the kitchen or table.
To refill, tilt the shaker slightly upside down and pour your salt or spice into the opening. A small wiggle helps guide everything through the internal funnel. Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Do not fill with water.
