Handmade Porcelain Belly Mugs — Banksia menziesii Collection

These porcelain Belly Mugs are hand carved with Banksia menziesii in all its stages — flower, bud, and seed. Each mug is wheel-thrown, coated in a black slip, and carved back to reveal crisp white linework that wraps softly around the form.

A rounded belly warms between your hands, the rim is thinned for a light sip, and a trimmed foot rim keeps each mug balanced. The interior is finished in a glossy clear food-safe glaze. The exterior is left mostly unglazed for a smooth matte feel, with small glazed highlights to lift the botanical detail.

• Large Mug 9.5–10.5 x 8.5–9 cm — approx 350 ml | $100

As each mug is individually handmade, natural variations in carving, form, and colour are part of the character of the piece. Designs vary, featuring different stages of Banksia flowers and seedpods.

Although made for hot and cold drinks, many customers use them for desserts, ice cream, G&T, fresh herbs, dips, or anywhere a small, beautiful vessel fits.
