This is one of the City of Cockburn’s much-loved art events, with Memorial Hall opening its doors each year to showcase the work of local Cockburn artists.

Ceramic artist Danica Wichtermann has worked alongside her father, artist Nis Wichtermann, for many years from her childhood home in Spearwood, where they have regularly hosted community events and classes. They are excited to present recent works together in this year’s exhibition and will also host a joint Open Studio on Saturday 28 March.

Continuum- Group Exhibition

Danica Wichtermann has been selected to exhibit in Continuum, a national members exhibition presented by the The Australian Ceramics Association in partnership with Noosa Regional Gallery.

The exhibition brings together 90 ceramic artists from across Australia, showcasing the diversity and excellence of contemporary ceramics practice.

Danica will present Whispers of the Wild – Where the Red Tails Roam, a carved porcelain vessel exploring ecological continuity through the relationship between Forest Red-tailed Black Cockatoos and the native landscapes that sustain them.

Biosphere Boodja Arts and Wild Things Festival

This September, Goomalling comes alive with the Biosphere Boodja Arts and Wild Things Festival — a free two-day celebration of creativity, music, light, and nature. I’m excited to be one of the featured artists, creating a crop circle artwork inspired by my black cockatoo porcelain vases and the native flora they call home. Join me, along with incredible artists, musicians, and makers, for a weekend of workshops, performances, dome projections, and the joyful March of the Echidna clay sculpture parade. Free entry, with camping, glamping, and paid experiences available.

Exhibition - Darlings of the Scarp

Featuring artists from the Mundaring Open Studios, Armadale Open Studios, and Kalamunda Open Studios art trails, Darlings of the Scarp is a celebration of the many talented artists throughout the Perth Hills region.

Kalamunda Open Studios is an event which is held in Spring and Autumn in the City of Kalamunda. The Armadale Hills Open Studio Art Trail began in 2015 instigated by local Bedfordale artist Sue Doorey. 

The Hills of the Mundaring area have long been a hub for creative people who find inspiration from the natural environment, with its spectacular forests, winding waterways and prolific wildlife. This exhibition unites a selection of artists from each of the open studio trails, demonstrating how the Perth Hills is brimming with creativity.

Kalamunda Open Studios is an event held every year in the Shire of Kalamunda. Professional artists open their studios to the public for conversation, information and art sales. This year marks 20 years running!
This is a great opportunity to come by the studio, see what we do, grab some Studio Specials and chat about the process and inspiration behind our creations.
