Over the years I have really come to see how intertwined my own ceramic practice has become with my teaching. I love to see my students’ eyes light up when they get inspired by a particular work, and then add their own techniques, style and personality to the things they create.

I am just as passionate about sharing my knowledge as I am about creating my own ceramic objects, and am grateful to meet so many wonderful people along the way.

POTTERY WORKSHOPS

My workshops are designed for everyone - from those who have no clay experience at all to those who want to increase their knowledge and skill set, or master new skills. 

Participating in a workshop is a great opportunity for those who have always wanted to have a go at creating something new. They are also a great way to spend a few hours focused and forgetting the world.

Each workshop is based around a specific theme or project, allowing students to make the projects they wish to undertake. However, your own creative style is always encouraged, and slight modifications are totally possible. 

My workshops are social and set in my back yard studio among eucalyptus trees and an array of fruit trees and blossoms. At the start of 2024 it got a re-vamp, with a lovely new set up, insulation and improved aircon, the wood fireplace is still there, and a newly added colourful feature wall.

Workshops are especially fun to do with a small group of friends or family members or come and meet some new ones!

Danica has over 17 years of ceramic experience and teaching. Danica holds a degree in Secondary Education, a Diploma of Arts, and has been a school teacher for over 10 years at the Perth Waldorf Steiner School. She has facilitated primary and high school artist projects and incursions, run PD for teachers and staff, and taught students of all ages from Pre - school through to seniors.

Private Group Classes

If you have a group of five to ten people and you would like to have a private group class of your choice of project, please email me to discuss what dates suit us both. Best start times for are generally 9/9.30am or and afternoon slot of 2/2.30pm start. Classes generally run for 2.5-3 hrs.

Large groups, Events, Parties, PDs & Incursions

For larger events I can come to you, or an arranged venue. I will bring all tools and materials, you will just need to supply a suitable space with chairs and tables. There are a variety of class options to suit groups of 10-30 people please get in contact with Danica to get her package info.

THE STUDIO

Since the start of 2016 my studio is now located in the beautiful Perth Hills, in Wattle Grove. Here I find I am constantly inspired by the amazing native flora and fauna, with large Gum Trees out the back, Carnaby Cockatoos, owls and Kookaburras singing from the top of the hill, and stunning bush trail walks. 

I have a small Gallery display space and my Studio is open to the public by appointment.
