Danica Wichtermann has entered two works in the Minnawarra Art Awards, one of Western Australia’s leading regional art prizes and a key event within the Armadale Arts Festival.
Presented by the City of Armadale, the Minnawarra Art Awards showcase some of Western Australia’s most accomplished artists alongside emerging voices from across the state.
About Danica’s Work
Drawing inspiration from Western Australia’s native flora and fauna — particularly threatened black cockatoo species — Danica’s work acts as a quiet record of endurance and ecological fragility within changing environments. Her vessels hold traces of seed pods, feeding cycles, and habitat, offering moments of reflection rather than spectacle.
Danica works primarily in wheel-thrown porcelain enriched with sgraffito carving, botanical impressions, and layered underglaze. Her work has been exhibited in selective exhibitions across Western Australia and nationally and is held in public, institutional, and private collections.
