Pottery Workshop- Coiled Planter

  • Rediscover Ceramics 6 Jack Road Wattle Grove, WA, 6107 Australia (map)

Coiled Planter
Rediscover Ceramics classes are perfect for beginners and complete novices. If you have never worked with clay before please feel very welcome to come and experience the fun and satisfaction of creating something functional with your hands.

This is a great project for beautifying the home, fun gift idea for a friend or loved one, and a handmade item you can use and cherish for life.

In this workshop students will make their very own medium to large coiled pot plant. You may choose to do a larger project, or a smaller one with a plate underneath. You may choose to put drain holes in the bottom, or ones at the top to hang your work, or none at all and use as a solid bowl.

Danica will take you through the making processes step by step, starting with rolling a ball and creating a pinch pot base, and then building the form taller with clay coils. This process is very slow, relaxing and mindful! You will then be able to smooth out your piece, add textures, or even a wonderful finger indent patter around the piece.

On the day, you will also have the opportunity to add a splash of coloured underglazes at the end, or Danica will glaze your work clear, satin white or with copper green washed glaze.

These classes are perfect to enjoy with a group of friends or come along by yourself and meet new ones. They are social, relaxing and heaps of fun.

  • Students receive 15% off in the Rediscover Ceramics studio shop.

  • Tea and coffee and baked treat on arrival.

  • Classes run for about 2.5-3 hrs

**Behind the scenes Danica will then fire and glaze fire your creations to make them perfect to use for your flowers and blooms, and ready to pick up in about 4 weeks.

Classes include all non-toxic materials, tools, and firing.
